On May 22nd, I saw the English play "ROMEO AND JULIET" with E.S.S. members. Because the event was held in Kansai Gaidai University, we took a bus there. Nineteen People including me joined in this event. All members met there. We looked around the University because we arrived early and waited for the start of the play.

I learned two points through the play. First, it is important to understand literary works deeply. I couldn't enjoy the play because even the Japanese explanation was classical and complex. But I could hear "Romeo----!!" Benvolio said, and "Romeo is vanished." Second, it is important to communicate with our hearts. I felt that all "ITCL" cast played by gesture and voice tone for non-English speaker. I learned that we can communicate with our hearts when we use another language.

We went to see the "Romeo and Juliet" in Kansai Gaidai University on May 22th from 6:30p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This is an ESS club activity. The people who joined were about 20 members of the ESS. There was a big crowd there. For example, college students, elderly people, neighboring people and so on. It was my first time to see a Shakespeare play. So, I was very interested in it.

This play was made up of 8 people which is Romeo, Juliet, Juliet's nurse, Juliet's father, a priest, Romeo's friends and Juliet's cousin. They had a variety of characters. It was fun. I was moved by the play because story the of Romeo and Juliet is tragic love. I liked the scene where Romeo confesses his love to Juliet. This scene was very romantic.

I want to go to see various plays again. By seeing plays I can learn something from them.

On May 22nd We went to Kansai University of Foreign Studies. We saw a stage play.

The title of the play was "Romeo and Juliet". I thought the leading actor's acting ability was very good. The stage play was spoken in English, but there were subtitles.

I didn't see the last scene, because it was already late. So, I went home.

This time is so sorry.

I had never seen an English play before. So it was difficult for me to understand. But I felt excited. The scene I liked the most is when Romeo climbed the gate to see Juliet. Why? Because I felt and noticed how he really loved Juliet. There were many funny scenes. For example, when Romeo's brother shouted to find Romeo. I really had a lot of fun. I hope to see more English plays like this.

I've never seen the play in English before and Romeo and Juliet before. I knew a little of the story, but did not know all of it. I thought it was amazing that even while their families were fighting, they were loving each other. When I was watching it, I only read the subtitles all the time, so I hoped that in future I will be able to watch any movies in English without subtitles.

We went to Kansai Gaidai University on Thursday May 22th. It was the first time to watch the show in English and I don't know Romeo and Juliet's story. The main actor was performing very well. I couldn't understand the story without subtitles. So I want to be able to watch it without subtitles. I want to watch another show next time.

On Thursday May 22nd, the ESS went to Kansai Gaidai University to watch the play of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The play was performed by a British theoretical company called International Theater Company London. I had watched a Romeo and Juliet cartoon before in ESS, but the play was first time, so I was very interested.

In the play, I was surprised at two points. First, Romeo and some characters are black people. I thought that all characters might be white people just like the cartoon, so it was unexpected.

Second, the player's English was so difficult for me. Strong British accent or old school English, and fast. I couldn't understand the story without Japanese subtitles. But it was a very nice experience I think. Because I swear to myself I will be a nice English speaker who can understand Shakespeare's English play without translated subtitles.

On that account, let's study English together!
